Network meetings, Monday nights, and Babies
To say this past week has been ordinary would be the biggest fabrication of truth ever uttered from my mouth. Now, to say that I am utterly exhausted would be accurate. This past week has been one of the most memorable weeks that I can remember in my entire life. God is blessing in so many ways and this is my weekly update to you so that you can be let in on all of the happenings. From Aletheia Network Meetings, to an incredible Monday night gathering, to babies being born, this last week was nothing short of amazing. And I was privileged to be a part of it all.
Last Wednesday, 11 pastors, pastor’s wives, and staff from the three Aletheia churches in Virginia, came for our second-ever Aletheia Network Meeting. We met all day Thursday and then a good portion of Friday. The reason for this meeting was to discuss the future of the Aletheia collegiate church planting movement. We discussed many things…the next locations for possible church plants; the development of a web site; the development of a press-kit so that we can ask businesses and others to partner with us; the development of the Aletheia record label; the first annual Aletheia Network retreat next May; and the first ever Aletheia Conference in December of 2010. I hope you guys understand that God is doing some big things. Get ready for an explosion of college churches in the next 25 years. This is just the beginning of it all. It was incredible to see how God used all of the creative minds to come up with unbelievable stuff. I can’t wait to see what God does. Ace posted some pictures and I am kind of borrowing them for this portion of my blog (Thanks Ace). As you can see we ate a lot of food, and did a lot of talking over the two days…and then we ended it with a little swim and a bbq.
lots of stuff to go over in the itinerary…
After the meeting, and after everyone left on Saturday, it was back to the grind for everyone in Tampa. We geared up for another Monday night Aletheia Tampa gathering and were excited to get back into the swing of things. Our largest group to date came out on Monday night, surpassing the amount of people we had just one week prior. It was awesome! We had new visitors, the music was quality, and Suzie made the best macaroni and cheese ever that people grubbed on like wolves. We started our new theme “Attitude” and studied one of the core passages of Aletheia, Philippians 2 verses 1 through 4. I felt great about the study and I think people were impacted by it. Trying to teach humility, sacrifice, unity, and service is difficult in a society that looks down on those things. But I think it went over well with our group. I am so enocuraged about what God is doing right now!
And finally…The craziness continued yesterday with the newest addition to the Aletheia Tampa family. Chloe Isla Cochrane was born yesterday around 4:30 in the afternoon. She weighed in at a whopping 6 lbs. 5oz, and came equipped with dimples. She is very beautiful and we are so excited for Graham and Shay and for their wonderful little baby girl. Shay is recovering after a semi-difficult delivery…what am I saying???…she gave birth to a human being people…of course she is recovering. We love you Shay! Great work! Here’s the proof…
With all that being said, I love what God is doing. He is so faithful.

Agreed, last week was truly amazing, even just the days/events that I was a part of! I’m SO excited for Aletheia Tampa!!! p.s. Chloe looks JUST like Shay in that picture!
