Sweet Memories!
I was thinking this morning and reminiscing about all of the wonderful times we have had at Aletheia Church over the past 7 and a half years. And then I started thinking about the Aletheia Band and all of the crazy times we have had over that same period of time. Not only does October 28, 2001 mark the beginning of Aletheia Church, but it marks the beginning of a band; the band that has served as the house worship band for Aletheia Church since day one. We have had many personnel changes over the years but God finally brought a nucleus of guys together who have become the best of friends and who have the same vision and passion for the worship ministry for Aletheia Church. I know that I have a tendency to over-exaggerate but honestly, there are about 24 different people who can claim that they have been in the Aletheia Band. Some (like Rob Connelly), can claim a much lengthier tenure than others.
But the guys I have been able to serve with over the past few years have really helped to shape who the Aletheia Band has become and have helped to set a precedent for all others who follow in their foot steps in the future. Speedy was the first to come our way in early 2003. Then Ace followed suit later that same year. Graham came on board in 2006 (to become our 12th different bass player). Then there is Chad. He was a late addition to the crew and joined us in early 2008.
We have had so much fun these past few years and I can’t say enough good about my boys. They really exemplify the true meaning of worship and what it means to serve our God sacrificially.
God is leading us all to Tampa now (minus Chad) and we are excited about what the future holds with the next Aletheia Church plant. But nothing will ever take away those awesome memories that we will always hold onto from our years serving God here in Harrisonburg.
The next generation of the Aletheia worship ministry is going to be amazing and I can’t wait to see where God leads Cameron and the new band. But for only a few more weeks you guys at Aletheia will have to put up with some of the old guys still.
Shay took a couple pictures per Chad’s request of the full band. I love these dudes so much…

loooooooooove you guys!! (i’m slightly partial to the guy in the middle though) I know God has got some cool things planned for the future, but I can safely say that your presence in h’burg is going to be surely missed. :]
