Anberlin…at Aletheia?…No Way!

I have not posted for a while because as most of you know, Ashlee, Drew, Pastor Dave, Chippy, and I all went down to Cancun, Mexico to minister to the wonderful people in that city of 600,000 people for a week. We got back on friday morning at 4 after spending 7 long hours in the Miami airport. Our trip was awesome as we saw 14 people commit their lives to Jesus through repentance and faith. God really led us to the right people. We were able to talk to people such as a 16 year old boy who was dying of Aids and another 25 year old young guy who had just been deported from South Carolina because he got caught drunk driving, leaving his fiancee and 1 year old dughter in SC. Both of those dudes prayed with us to receive the free gift of salvation.

We had fun relaxing a bit as well as trying to get our minds off of everything. We kind of accomplished that although the nights were still really hard on us, especially on Ashlee.

But, we did have something to look forward to when we got home. One of the biggest bands in the world right now played at Aletheia Church last night. Anberlin was in Harrisonburg, that’s right! I know many of you out there are saying “I don’t believe it.” But it is true and there are pictures and 300 eye witnesses to prove it. I still don’t know how we landed this gig but we actually got paid to have them play at our place. It was truly amazing. They put on a great show as well as did the first band “Between the Trees.” Those guys had a great sound and I will probably use some of the $100 of itunes gift cards that I got for Christmas and my birthday to download their stuff.

Here are some shots from last night. It’s kind of cool to see Aletheia on the wall behind Anberlin…
