JMU parents, Max-capacity, and fried chicken
As you can see from the title, it was a somewhat ordinary day at Aletheia…other than the parents and fried chicken part of course. But, as you guys know, we do love to eat at Aletheia. We just did a little more of that (and a little more unhealthy) yesterday. What a day it was! Not because of the food though; but because of what transpired in the worship experience.
First of all, we had more people than we’ve ever had at one service in the history of the church. This came as we near the 7 year anniversary of our ministry. It was awesome to see God bring people through those doors yesterday. They kept coming in, even well after the first worship set was over. When it was all said and done, there were over 500 people jammed into our (what is now considered too small) warehouse building. We had to put every chair in our possession out, including the old metal fold out ones. It was bananas in that place!
Here’s a pic that Ace took on his cell phone (remember that this is only two thirds of the crowd in view)…
Graham taught an amazing Bible study from Colossians about filtering everything we say and do through the lens of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior. Worship was fun and exciting also. As I referenced in the subject, it was JMU parents weekend and we were honored to have some of the parents come and worship with us yesterday. I think it was great for those parents to see who their children are being impacted spiritually by while away at college. After the service we had a huge picnic at Purcell Park behind the church facility for the parents. Brandon picked up 400 pieces of chicken (WOW!) and about 200 people came over the have lunch with us.
Some old friends of ours were able to come in from California this weekend as well. Stu and Karen Tant were a part of both of our ministries in California and it was great to see them and hang out with them, even if it was brief. They have been unbelievable ministry partners over the years and we love and appreciate them so much. How cool was it that they were able to be at Aletheia for one of the best days ever in the history of our ministry? We give all the glory to God.
I can’t wait to see what God does in the coming weeks, months, and years.

Sounded like a great weekend! God is alive and working through his people and in the world.
