God’s diligence becomes our diligence

The past few weeks have been a whirl wind for us at Aletheia. Really the last few months have been that way. This past summer was jam packed with activity, creativity, and innovation that has sparked a lot of momentum. Seeing close to 500 people pile in our building each week for the past month has been rewarding. We have such an incredible group of volunteers that put in so much time and energy to see the work of God done. I am amazed at the work ethic of our people.

What we’ve seen transpire on Sunday mornings over the past four weeks though pails in comparison to what has happened during the week over the past few months. The amount of our people who are going out to share the truth with others has been staggering. Along with that, we have seen results. Dozens have given their life over to Christ over the past few weeks. It truly has been amazing!

This is a testament to the diligence of the people God has brought to Aletheia. Our people are so incredibly diligent. They are diligent with producing awe-inspiring worship experiences on Sundays that give glory to God. And they are even more diligent with seeing the lost reached and being intentional about it. In my small group last night we talked about a lot of things. One of the verses we came across was 2 Peter 3:9 which says “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” The Lord is diligent in bringing the lost to him. This is the mentality that we must have and this is what I am seeing with the people of Aletheia church. We must first and foremost be concerned with people’s spiritual well being. As long as we are fixed on seeing this accomplished, everything else will continue on as it has been. Blessings for us should not be measured in how many people are coming on Sundays, but rather how many are coming into a personal relationship with God.

And God has blessed us in both ways. We have had 300 visitors over the past four weeks. We have never experienced anything like this before. God is being faithful to us because we are prioritizing what we should be prioritizing as a church.

God is also giving us an innovative surge like never before. The amount of visitors that we have had in my mind stems from the crazy promotional stunts we have done. The word has gotten out this year. Everyone is finding out about aletheia. Whether it’s through a book mark in their mail box, or a 3blocks.org poster they see in Speedy’s yard, people are finding out about Aletheia Church.

God is changing people’s lives for the better and it’s fun to be a part of it. And we are so glad that he is bringing people to us. It has been a fun ride these last few weeks.

It is so amazing to see how God is blessing Aletheia and more so how he is using Aletheia to reach so many new people. May this momentum continue for Aletheia as God’s glory is fulfilled. Please keep Amanda and I in mind for future plants. We love you all!
