May days at Aletheia

We just wrapped up (what I feel) was an incredible month at Aletheia Church. Our church is passionate about the fact that God has called us to be a church that focuses on seeing the Great Commission fulfilled in people’s lives. And in May we saw that very thing occur yet again in incredible ways. How about the 13 people that got in a hot tub or a freezing cold river (yeah, that was painful) to get baptized? Oh Yeah! We also saw 32 people commit their lives to Christ. WOW! It is funny to me how at a time when things should slow down significantly at our ministry with more than half of our congregation away for the summer, we ended up having one of the best months of fulfilling God’s call on our ministry in the 6 and a half year history of our church. Not to mention that we are seeing people get systematically taught and equipped by the dozens. On many occasions in May, we had teams of 10 or more people going out to knock on doors or walk on campus and talk to others about Jesus.

So what has God called Aletheia Church to do?

Make disciples, baptize, and teach them everything that He has commanded.

And once again what happened this last month?

  1. 32 brand new believers
  2. 13 people got dunked
  3. Many were trained and equipped to do the work of the ministry

I guess I have to ask what is your part in all of this? What is your part in seeing the Great Commission fulfilled in people’s lives? It doesn’t take much. Remember that the reason why people don’t share their faith isn’t because they are ashamed of God. People loves Jesus…a lot. It’s just that they are not equipped, which means they lack experience, which leads to a lack of confidence. It’s a training, experience, and confidence issue.

Don’t wait any longer. People are in a burning building and we can actually do something about it. We can be spiritual firemen. Think about it. And then DO IT!
