What I do…
Sometimes I feel like ministry or church related work becomes more about the work and less about the people (which is the actual church). As with any job, things in every day ministry life become mundane and monotonous. There are the usual meetings either here in Harrisonburg or at various places all over the state (Dad and I, along with Ashlee, Drew, and mom just spent the last two days at one in Hampton). There are the daily e-mails and phone calls. And there is a lot of time spent behind a computer screen writing blogs, sending out e-mails, researching new music, picking out sets for the next week’s worship sets etc…But the greatest part of doing ministry is that at the end of the day, no matter what I have done, it is still about people. It has to be this way. What I do everyday has an eternal impact on people’s lives. I have the incredible privilege to help people. I get to see people move from an existence of hopelessness to hope, hatred to love, darkness to light…you get the picture. It’s awesome and I love it. There is nothing greater than seeing a person’s life changed for Christ. This Sunday we will see possibly as many as 8 people publically display their love for Christ through baptism. What an encouragement. We have already witnessed around 10 people accept Christ into their lives in November and the month isn’t even half over. WOW! I’m excited about what I do and i thank God for every moment.
Wow. Good to know Aletheia will never be without song lyrics.
Thanks for being a great leader AP, as well as a great servant.
Hey Aaron, I know this is a ridiculously random question, but I’ve been racking my brain all day to remember the name of one of the songs yall played this sunday morning. Do you think you could tell me what your set list was? One of them really moved me, and I’d love to remember what it was! Great job today, by the way. It was my first Sunday service and you guys rocked. I can really feel Christ in that building when you sing. Thank you.
Thanks Leah!
Here is yesterday’s set list…
Take it all (Hillsong United)
Collision Course (Aletheia Band)
Everything (LifeHouse)
Salvation (Matt Redman)
Solution (Hillsong United)
Any chance anyone at Aletheia got photos of the baptism? I just had some family who couldn’t make it out that day that were curious, thanks!
