In case you haven’t heard,
The aletheia band was featured in an article in today’s Harrisonburg Rocktown Weekly.
Brooke Bates did an excellent job portraying who we are and why we do what we do as a band.

The truth is out there: Aletheia worship band records album with the answers
Can we leave lyrics for you on this site? I love the music you turn out and if I have bits or pieces that inspire you to worship with new words, well… I’d like to give what I have.
Hey anonymous,
To answer your question, sure you can post your lyrics.
We would love to read what you have.
Is there a reason why you are only known as anonymous though?
sincerely,
the named one, aaron
I wasn’t feeling creative. Actually I think it is kind of a fun word. like synonymous or dichotomous or metropolis.
Love always,

The first set:
This is a duet between God and someone feeling down. I envisioned the end as a simultaneous (another cool word) chorus. This was inspired by those times that I feel God is this big dude truckin around the Universe, and maybe it doesn’t feel like He knows what is going on in my life or how I am feeling. And the truth is, He is literally right next to me the entire time. He understands every thought because He made me, He loves me, and He knows me. Whether or not I understand those things, doesn’t change whether or not He does them.
(Man)
Heavenly beings
Stars above
Ancient writings
Tell of your love
In another place and time
Your miracles shined
They say “Have faith”
“You know He’s always watching”
But only the pillowcase
Dries the tears that I’m crying
(C1 Man)
They talk of comfort
But I feel so alone
If you are my answer
Please let it show
I’m trying so hard
To not let you go
Where are you tonight?
(God)
I was your breath
On your first inhale
I made the sand
In your little pail
I was the fire on your birthday cake
I lead the ball to every catch you made
The wind in your hair
Every dream you achieved
The strength to endure
Baby, it all was me
There’s so many things
I want you to know
Here’s my grace
My mercy and hope
I know its hard, but
I’ll not let you go
I’m right here every night
The Second Set:
Through teared up eyes she clung to his leg
Sayin’ “Daddy please don’t go”
I tried to be good, I did what I could
Don’t leave me here alone
What are you runnin’ from?
Am I really all that bad?
He said “Baby girl,
I just can’t stay
I hope one day you’ll understand
[Chorus]
(She cried)
But I’m right here
I’m what you need
Forever yours
Why run from me?
I’m right here
Am I not enough?
You have my heart
(and) You have my love
She took off her ring, put it on the counter
As his last bags were carried out
He handed her a letter said, “My explanation’s in there”
I just can’t stick around
She said, “What are you running from,
Am I really all that bad?”
He closed the screen
She fell to her knees
Face buried in her hands
[Chorus]
Two months three years since her daddy passed away
Six weeks since her husband left
Grabbed the keys, headed south on 33
Her soul had had no rest
Then heard, “What are you runnin’ from,
Am I really all that bad?”
Pulled the car to the should
And something inside told her
She might wanna bow her head
Interlude:
And the good Lord
embraced her
said sweetly “My Child…”
I’m right here,
I’m what you need
Forever yours
You can count on me
I’m right here
Am I not enough?
You have my heart
You have my love
