Good stuff

I hope everyone’s week is going well so far. Last week’s blog was pretty tough so I figured I’d soften up a bit and talk about some pretty encouraging stuff that took place this past weekend. As most of you know we started another Aletheia in Richmond in January of 2006. After many months of making connections and building bridges into the lives of those people on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University and “The Fan” in downtown Richmond, we had our first official large group meeting on Sunday night at 7pm. For those of you who were there, you know what I’m talking about when I say it was amazing! About 175 people came out to worship God and hear Pastor Josh teach from God’s Word in Ephesians. It was an incredible time of celebration, newness, and excitement. There is nothing quite like a brand-spankin’ new and fresh ministry. Being in the commons theater on Sunday night at VCU really reminded me of the beginning days here in Harrisonburg. Sometimes as ministries age, they become stale. I really hope that we here in Harrisonburg never get to that point. Let’s try to avoid that and continue to ask God to help us to be fresh, new, and vibrant just as I saw in Richmond on Sunday night. I love serving God, and I love it even more when I see new things start up. It gets me excited to do even more. Let us all continue to serve God with great attitudes and allow Him to keep that freshness to our ministry. If we become stale in our hearts, how can we expect others to be anything else. Pray for a new and fresh outlook on your life this week and see how God uses you even more.

God bless!

Thanks for the weekly blogs A.P.

Keepin it fresh is not always easy because we want to take the easy way out and stay with what we are used to, but God will definitely challenge us and present new opportunities if we’re looking for them.
