Dependancy
Thanks to you who left a comment on last week’s blog. I really appreciate it and it lets me know that some of you are reading my thoughts for the week. Also, a great big thank you has to go out to all of you who came out yesterday for another incredible worship experience at Aletheia. It was so exciting to see so many passionate hearts worshipping God and intent on learning His word. We had a lot of fun together as the band rocked some songs by Everyday Sunday, Charlie Hall, Third Day, and Chris Tomlin and once again Pastor Dave hammered home a tough message. We looked at Matthew 26 and saw how Jesus was getting ready to encounter a very great difficulty as he agonized in the garden of Gethsemane. Pastor Dave taught us through Jesus’ example that when we are preparing fo an upcoming difficulty we need to : 1. Begin our preparation with prayer; 2. Be sure not to face things alone; and to 3. Not run from the difficulty. He started his message by showing the powerful opening scene of the movie “The Passion.” The scene gave us all a visual of the Jesus’ anguish in the garden as he prepared himself for what was about to come. Get ready to see more of “The Passion” as we continue our study in Matthew. If you missed out on the message, make sure you go to www.aletheiachurch.com and listen to it.
I will leave you guys this week with the lyrics from one of the songs we did for worship this week. The song is called “Find Me Tonight” and it is by a band called Everyday Sunday (www.myspace.com/everydaysunday). Too often in life we think we can survive on our own. We think we don’t need anybody else to depend on. Well, if you haven’t already figured it out, we do need help. And God is there to offer all the help we could ever need. Just like we learned that when preparing for an upcoming difficulty (which is all the time), to not do it alone, this principle applies with everything we do. Be encouraged this week and know that God is there for you.
Find Me Tonight
Everyday Sunday
Yesterday, I could not feel this
Today I’m sick of trying
To live like I can live on my own
This world around me is suffocating
But I keep forgetting
To turn and run into You
So Find me
Wherever I am won’t You
Find me
I got myself lost and I
Don’t think
I want to be roaming in heartache
Please find me tonight
I make it hard and I can’t stand it
Can’t wrap my head around it
I wrestle with You more than I should
I make a mess of everything
But You see the best in me
I’ll never be too far gone
You speak without sound
Your love is so loud
You always save me
I love this song and I hope you guys will continue to play this throughout the semester.

The last stanza of that song is so profound. We realize how true that is when we start all preparation with prayer, letting God’s love ring loud in our hearts. Awesome…
I agree! What an incredible service Sunday. It is so awesome to see how Aletheia is growing. The last two Sunday’s I have stood in the back and just absorbed everything in: the amazing music, EVERYONE worshiping wholeheartedly in thier way, all the people serving. Totally all inspiring and moving. The message hits home for Amanda and I as we are going through for me, the absolute most toughest decision we have had to face yet on whether we feel God is directing us to TN or to stay. It helped to have such a powerful message that is telling us exactly what scripture is leading us to do when facing difficult times.
i really like that song-
