It’s that time of year

Greetings,

It is my hope that everyone is having a great week so far. So, have you thinking about the message from this past week by Pastor Dave? Have you determined “Which will you choose?” Those of us who were at aletheia this past Sunday came away hopefully with a renewed sense of passion for the Lord. We saw a young woman humble herself to show honor to God by giving up something as valuable as a yearly wage. The disciples even questioned her saying “Why this waste.” Listen to the pod cast and also read the passsage yourself (Matthew 26:1-16). Too often our priorities are way off. We seem to give importance to issues that really bare no eternal significance. I tend to do this even in my daily life and I’m supposed to be an example to all of you. I fill my time doing things such as writing blogs when there is a JMU freshman that needs my help moving in right this second. Don’t get me wrong, blogs are important…but not that important :) I’m sure the 10 readers each week wouldn’t mind it if I just didn’t have time to write the blog this week because I was showing God’s love to somebody. Dwell on that for a while.

Now, on a lighter note, things are about to get crazy around Aletheia. In the coming days, thousands of college students will be moving to Harrisonburg ready to be educated. The growth that we have experienced over the summer will hopefully be even more multiplied as we see hundreds of students pour into our building in the coming Sundays. We love this time of year. Just think, we all have an opportunity to reach out to a whole new crop of fresh faces with the arrival of thousands of freshmen and transfer students. Let’s take full advantage of this and get out of our comfort zones. Many people might see the influx of people as a negative. We need to think positively and hope that we might get to meet and pour into the next Apostle Paul or Billy Graham or Brandon Kiracofe.

What are you going to do for God in the coming days and weeks and months? Do something incredible and join in as we attempt to reach many young people for Christ.

Have a great rest of your week.

sincerely, aaron
