out in California

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay on the blog this week. My time in California was a little busier that I had anticipated and I never had an hour to sit down at a computer and write down my accumalated thoughts for the week. For those of you who didn’t know Ashlee, Drew, and I, went out to Cali this past week partly for my cousin Daniel’s wedding and mostly to catch up with friends and family that we haven’t seen in a long time. It was a great trip but I calculated in my head that I personally drove well over a thousand miles in our 6 full days there. If you like to drive, move to Southern California. Everytime I visit my birth state since I have moved back to Virginia, I have always come back letting out a big sigh of relief reminding myself that life is somewhat normal outside of California. I forget how crazy the pace of everything is there. The average speed on the freeways is 80 miles per hour…and in reality everyone drives at least that fast. I got a speeding ticket in Richmond two months ago for going 74…WOW! But I still love California. There’s always something to do. Go visit sometime.

Moving on…I was so excited to hear that the worship experience on Sunday morning was incredible. It encourages me to no end that if Pastor Dave and I go out of town, the ministry doesn’t even skip a beat. It really makes us feel like we are kind of doing our jobs and when I say that I mean we are at least allowing God to use us in spite our many faults and failures. Our goal is to train those around us to not only do what we do but to do it better than we can. I think we have accomplished that in so many of your lives. We have been given the greatest people by God. I never even worry when I am gone on a Sunday because I know Graham is going to do such a great job. And I know Pastor Dave feels the same when guys like Steve, Matt, and Brandon pick up the slack for him.

Here is your challenge this week…Don’t soak up all of the great teaching you are getting at aletheia and keep it for yourself. Get out there and invest into someone like we have done in your lives. Give somebody the same love and support that you have received by all of the leaders and staff and core participants at aletheia.

Until next time,

your humble servant in Christ,

aaron
